The weekend following Labor Day brings one of the most beautiful and spectacular events to Reno–the Great Reno Balloon Races! Thousands of people set their alarm clocks to get up at 2a.m. to be at Rancho San Raphael before the Dawn Patrol takes off. Hundreds of hot air balloons lift off and make magic in the sky above Reno. It’s also one of the few events left that one of Arch of Reno’s ministers has not performed a wedding. Looking for something different and beautiful??

The weekend following the Balloon Races brings the National Championship Air Races back for the thirty-something year. They’re incredibly awesome. Jet races were added a couple years ago to add even more excitement. A couple years ago, one of our ministers performed the marriage of a Canadian Snowbird’s crew chief on the tarmack in front of the plane. We’re still looking for someone wanting to use the Air Races for their special wedding this year. Will it be you?

The 22nd annual Hot August Nights event ended Aug. 10 and was another very successful year. Reportedly, over 800,000 people attended the events. Poodle skirts, ponytails and bobbysocks were the dress code for the gals and white t-shirts with blue jeans for the guys. The weddings were fun and reminiscent of the era.  Make your plans for next year now and include your wedding or renewal plans. You can’t go wrong at Arch of Reno!

Reservations were heavy for 08/08/08 at Arch of Reno and we offered specials to accumulate even more of those Lucky 8’s! We stayed busy from 8a.m. to midnight and performed over 40 weddings. We’re already planning for 09/09/09 which should prove to be another great date for marriage. Come to think of it, the day you choose will be the perfect number. Call us for a reservation.
